Erotic Paranormal Romance Author Marisa Chenery Interview On Naughty Nights Press Blog Today!! Come And Find Out What It's All About!

Marissa Chenery joins me, Gina Kincade, on the Naughty Nights Press Blog today to tell us a little personal information about herself and her new release "Foreseen Hunger" availible March 2nd from Ellora’s Cave!

Hi Marisa! Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to host an interview with you on Naughty Nights Press!

1. Can you share a few “tid bits” about your self? What is a typical day like for you? What “pet peeves” do you have if any?

I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband and four children. I’m stay at home mom as well as a writer. My typical day is making my school runs in the morning, writing after lunch, a school run in the late afternoon and then writing again after dinner. I don’t really have any pet peeves.

2. When did you first realize you wanted to be an author?

I think I was around 17 years old when I first decided I wanted to write.

3. What part of the story do you think is your strength to write?

I think my characters and world building are my strength.

4. Can you please share with us how old you were when you wrote your first story?

I was 17 when I started to write my first book, which I never finished. It wasn’t until I was 29 did I write and finish one. It’s called Lady Knight and is published at Siren Publishing.

5. What was your goal for yourself as a writer when you started? Did you meet or surpass it or did it change for you along the way?

My goal was to see my books published. Plus being a writer was the perfect job for me, allowing me to stay home with my kids. I did meet it when I learned about epublishers and received my first contract back in 2007.

6. How did you decide to write books in your specific genre? Was there anything that influenced your choice?

When I first starting writing I wrote historical romances, because that was what I mostly read at the time. Now I’ve made the switch to paranormal romances, which I mostly read as well.

7. How do you become inspired to write?

It was just something I enjoyed doing. I inherited the writing bug from my father.

8. Do you have a set schedule for writing or do you just go with the flow?

I do have a set schedule. I write once after lunch and once after dinner, both times between an hour and a half to two hours. I try to write around 2,000 words a day.

9. Which comes first, the story, the characters or the setting?

I usually come up with a story idea first, then the setting and finally the characters.

10. What are the elements of a great erotic romance for you?

A great erotic romance has to have great romance along with well written sex scenes. The hotter the better.

11. What are the most challenging and the most rewarding aspects of writing?

The most challenging would be submitting to publishers and then having to wait for an acceptance or a rejection. The rewarding aspect would be hearing from my readers telling me how much they love my books.

12. Can you share a little bit about your current release with us? Where can we find it?

My current release will be out at Ellora’s Cave on March 2nd. It’s the 6th book in my popular Ra’s Chosen vampire series called Foreseen Hunger. You can find it on EC’s website here http://www.jasminejade.com/ps-9127-50-foreseen-hunger.aspx.

13. If you weren't writing, what would you be doing?

I would more than likely still be a full time stay at home mom. I’ve been home with my kids since my first was born.

14. Is there a specific bit of advice you would give to an aspiring author who is looking to publish their work? Traditional or Self-Publishing, which would you suggest?

The best advice I can give is keep writing and not give up. I suggest Traditional, epublishers in particular. This route your book gets fully edited and receives some great cover art.

15. Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers? Where can our readers find you?

About "Foreseen Hunger"

Book six in the Ra’s Chosen series.

Takan has hidden who he is for three thousand years, but the time for secrecy is coming to an end. He knows it, and more importantly, Ra knows it. To complicate matters, Takan has found his mate. And she means more than happily-ever-after and smokin’ hot sex. She’s the key to the Chosen ending Apep’s threat to the mortal realm. Too bad Takan, and who he is, scares the bejesus out of her.

Falon lost her love years ago to the bite of an undead and has spent her nights hunting the creatures ever since. When she happens upon a man fighting the same fight as she, relief overcomes her. She’s not alone. But when she kisses him and discovers his fangs, she does what any warrior girl would do—she stabs him.

Just as they are coming to terms with their relationship, Ra drops a bomb that changes Takan forever, and Falon discovers her true destiny. The couple must come to terms with their new beginning, while bringing an end to an age-old battle.

“You’ve fought the undead before,” he said in a deep, slightly accented voice.
“The undead? Is that what you call those creatures?”
“Yes. For that is what they are—undead.”
It made sense, since they decomposed so quickly once they were taken out. Remembering what he’d first said about her having fought the creatures before, she pulled herself up straighter. “It’s not the first time I’ve come across undead.”
His intense gaze looked her up and down, causing the ache in her pussy to increase. With him standing so close, she found it a fight not to reach out and see how hard his body was, especially in the area between his legs that seemed to be sporting an interesting bulge.
“The sword,” he said. “How did you know bronze is an undead’s weakness?”
She shrugged. Falon wasn’t about to tell this stranger she’d dreamed of a man’s voice two nights before her first hunt, telling her she needed a bronze sword and where she had to go to get one. And she for damn sure wouldn’t tell him her sword had already been forged, paid for with her name on the sales receipt when she’d gone to the place the voice had sent her.
When he seemed to wait for an answer, she said, “I just knew.”
“You’re very good with a sword.”
“I’ve had lots of practice.”
Silence fell between them when he took another step closer. His gaze seemed to focus harder on her, and Falon felt as if she’d become sucked into it. Unable to pull away, she didn’t move when he reached across them and placed his hand on the left side of her chest, directly over her heart.
He drew in a breath and then said almost reverently, “Falon.”
The sound of him saying her name shot a jolt of arousal through her. Her blood heated even more when an image of him and her naked, their bodies straining against each other as they had sex filled her head. It abruptly disappeared when she gasped sharply.
A few more seconds passed before he lowered his hand and clamped it around her wrist. “You’re the key,” he said.
Falon quickly tried to pull her wits together when he took a couple of steps back, taking her along with him. “What? What key?” When he didn’t answer and continued to drag her along, even though she dug in her heels, she yanked at her arm. “Stop. Where do you think you’re taking me?” she demanded.
“Where I can watch over you.”
She struggled harder. “I don’t think so. I don’t need anyone to watch over me, especially not some strange man I just met.”
He suddenly stopped walking, causing her to almost slam into his back, and turned to face her. “I’m not some strange man. My name is Takan, and you are mine.”
The possessiveness in his voice caused her pussy to clench, but the saner part of her didn’t like what he’d said…at all. Before she could think of a way to get free, Takan yanked her close so she slammed against his chest, released her wrist and buried his hand in her hair at the back of her head. His lips descended, taking hers in a kiss that just about turned her legs to jelly.
Falon didn’t normally get swept away by a man’s kiss, but with Takan it felt as if her world centered on him, all her senses attuned only on the man who held her. The scent of the cologne he wore filled her nose with each breath she took. The feel of his hard body had her resisting the urge to rub up against him. And the way he took her lips, it was no gentle exploratory kiss. It was filled with raw hunger and need, causing her to libido to soar even higher.
She kissed him back, reaching up to put a stranglehold on the front of his t-shirt while she kept the sword in her other hand pointed down at her side. When his tongue swept along the seam of her lips, she opened to allow him entrance. The feel of it twining with hers, stroking and tasting, had her becoming more excited. Pressed as she was against him, Falon felt the unmistakable ridge of his erection nestled along her belly.
A soft moan rose from her. And when Takan sucked her tongue into his mouth, she clutched his shirt tighter. She explored, stroking the roof of his mouth before running her tongue along his teeth. He groaned when she touched a rather pointed tooth. Falon shifted to the other side and found a match. Given how pointed and sharp they felt, the teeth had to be fangs.
Her mind whirling with the thought she actually kissed one of the creatures, the undead she sought to destroy each night, Falon acted as if she was still into his kiss. Slowly, so as not to alert him to what she did, she lifted her sword arm, pulled it back and stabbed the tip into Takan’s stomach. With a grunt of pain, his hold loosened and Falon pushed him away, taking a step back to watch him start to decompose.
But when Takan only pressed his hand against his stomach and it came away red with blood, Falon shook her head. Had she made a terrible mistake? She shook her head again. “How can you be bleeding? You have fangs. I felt them. You have to be one of those creatures, only a type I’ve never seen before.”
“I bleed because I’m not one of the undead. I’m very much alive.”
Falon backed away. “Then what are you? A vampire? You aren’t exactly human. You’re still standing. A normal person would be down for the count after receiving a belly wound.”
“It takes a lot more than this to take me out.” Takan took a few steps toward her, but stopped short when she held her sword in front of her. “It’s all right, Falon. I won’t hurt you.”
He smiled as if to reassure her, flashing the fangs she’d felt while they’d kissed. The horror of the night five years before came rushing back. Inside her head, all she saw was what she’d thought had been a man lunging at her as he tried to bite her with sharp fangs. Even worse was the image of her boyfriend having his neck torn into by the very thing she’d barely managed to escape.
Fighting the fear that threatened to take her over—something she hadn’t allowed to happen since that horrific night—Falon spun on her heel and fled. Without looking behind her to see if Takan followed, she ran as fast as her legs would carry her.

Tears on a Tranquil Lake by Marsha A. Moore: A Tale Told By The Black Hawk Pirate Ship's First Mate, Black Sam! Ohhhh!

It’s great to be here on Naughty Nights Press blog again! I’m going to take it easy this time and let one of the characters from my fantasy erotic romance, Tears on a Tranquil Lake, have a go at a blog post. Pirate first mate, Black Sam, is a loveable seadog and has been begging me to let him tell a few stories. You know how pirates love their tall tales! So, here’s Black Sam, but be careful believing all he says!

First mate on the pirate ship, The Black Hawk, reports in on tall tales told in
Tears on a Tranquil Lake by Marsha A. Moore:

It be a grand day to tell ye about a book I be featured in, called Tears on a Tranquil Lake. Tis written by a great lass and fine storyteller, Marsha A. Moore.

I be called Black Sam, in the honored rank o’ first mate on the privateer vessel, The Black Hawk, under the command of Captain Raphael. The Hawk sails under colors o’ the Jolly Rodger and our own hawk on a red field.

The Captain be sweet on a new mermaid we pulled aboard the other night, saving her from the chill o’ cool winter surface waters. Just turned, she be so green, not knowing even to go deep into the water below to protect herself. But fer all the trouble, she be a lovely lass named Ciel, with long golden hair, shapely woman curves, some right pretty blue scales and flipper, if ye have a likin’ for her fish tail. I be thinkin’ Captain likes all her parts, the way he be hanging after her. He looked the fool a tryin’ to get her to join us for a trip down to the pirate waters o’Tortuga.

Ciel and me got to be right good mates, helpin’ me tease Dogbone, our head galley cook. Was hard to keep her aboard though – always wantin’ to swim off with dolphins! *guffaws* Pardon me, remembering her leap-froggin’ with them always brings me a hearty laugh. The trouble that lass could find, even a run in with some evil voodoo!
But her worst trouble be with that merman, Meris, who turned her into a mermaid. Seemed he thought he owned the lass. She believed him too, and put her square in the midst of a struggle tween Captain and him. Poor lass, her head all spun crazy like with the two o’ them wooing her day in, day out. If it weren’t fer me position to serve Captain, I might o’ thown me beret in the ring too. Just so-te-speak, since me cap’s always on, to cover me bald spot. Instead, I tried me best to help the pretty mermaid decide. Took her forever and about wrenched the hearts out o’ those two men.

An I won’t be tellin’ ye who the lass picked! Ye’ll just have to save yer doubloons to get yerself a copy of this tall tale.

Blurb:
What a surprise for a young woman, to find herself suddenly transformed into a mermaid.

Ciel’s first thought – track down the merman who changed her and make him reverse his magic.
Unable to find him, survival in her new world becomes paramount. She eagerly accepts help from a dashing pirate captain who takes a fancy to her, lavishing her with finery. When her merman does show up, he competes for her affection. One look into his eyes makes her life more complex -- he is her soul mate.

Which man will she choose – pirate captain or merman? Which life – human or mermaid? Caribbean adventures and dangers chase Ciel as she searches for decisions and the key to her happiness.

Warning: This book contains Haitian vodou, sultry wenches, foul-mouthed scalliwag pirates, overindulgence of fine Caribbean rum, and amorous encounters on deserted beaches.

Author of Paranormal Romance, Katie Salidas, Interview on Naughty Nights Press right now and all week!!!

Naughty Nights Press has the pleasure of Paranormal romance author Katie Salidas on NNP today to share some info about Katie the person as well as Katie the author, and some more information about her newest release of a new short novella of paranormal romance, Karma & Melodies. I look so forward to another awesome read from Katie Salidas!

Hunters & Prey, her latest full-length novel which is the second book in her sexy, hot Immortalis series was just released not too long ago as well. Carpe Noctem being the first book and another one I just could not put down!

You do not want to miss either of these books let me tell you!

Welcome Katie, so happy you could be here!

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

Hiya!! I’m Katie Salidas and I love to write about vampires. Every story I have ever written includes those sexy creatures of the night, though they aren’t always sexy, some are bad.

Other than that, I’m just your average, everyday person: wife and mommy. I have a beautiful daughter who is 6 going 30 and a hubby who really supports my work and wants me to succeeded as a writer. I feel very blessed to have the both of them!

2. When did you realize you wanted to be an author?

I realized it slowly. Writing is something I’ve always done as a hobby and it slowly became a thing that took over my life. Not a day goes by without me doing something writing related. It’s a huge part of me and if I can make it a career it would be a dream come true.

3. What was the first fiction you ever wrote?
Was it for publication? What reaction did you get?

Sadly, the first thing I wrote was lost to the void. I had written a full-length vampire story during the first year of High school. It was after I had finished reading the Vampire diaries series by LJ Smith. That year was also the year my family moved from Texas to Nevada. The pages got lost somewhere between here and there. I never got to see a reaction to it but I’d like to think it would have been received well by friends and family. Would it have been publishing worthy… probably not, but hey, we all have to start somewhere and that was my first try.

4. What author or book, if any, influenced your writing? Why?

The early books I read influenced me and established my love of vampires in any genre. Anne Rice being the queen of that! Her vampire series is still a favorite of mine and I, on occasion, dust off my old copies for another read.

5. What is your most & least favourite part of writing?

Writer’s block! Seriously, that is the worst. It comes in two forms: one, where you simply can’t think of the next thing to type, and two, where you can’t think of a good thing to type next. On the latter, it’s not a lack of ideas that halts you, it’s a lack of good ideas. You might have a million bad ones but not anything viable to work with and that is beyond frustrating.

6. Do you have a ritual to get you ready to write? Something special you do to psyche you up?

Music! I have a folder on my Songbird that is called “Writer Favorites.” It’s a collection of songs that have helped me set the “mood” for writing. Within that folder are songs that have different vibes: action, dramatic, sexy, sad, etc… Depending on the mood of the scene I’m writing, I’ll turn to that specific folder and hit play. It really does help me get into scene.

7. After writing for hours at a time how do you relax?

TV. I usually turn to light-hearted and/or comedy shows. After a hard session of writing my brain is often a pile of mush. My Hubby and I love to watch 30Rock, Community, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, & Parks and Rec. We love to laugh.

8. Where do you write?

My absolutely favorite spot to write is my loveseat. I’m short, so it’s the perfect place to stretch out with my laptop. It’s also in the front window of my house so I have lots of natural light and fresh air when I want it. Comfy, cozy, nice!

9. Does your environment have an impact on what or how you write?

Only so much as it can distract me from writing. I’m a bit A.D.D. so I’m very easily distracted. I can’t write in public places, I can’t write if people are around me, and I can’t write if there is a TV on. Naturally that means I can’t write when my daughter is around. It’s hard to write with, “Mommy mommy mommy mommy,” in the background. LoL. I have to have a certain level of peace and quiet, which usually means I write at night or when the family is off at school or at work. Oddly enough, I can write with music on, but it has to be music I’ve chosen. I know… OCD right?

10. What is your opinion of writer's groups? Do you find them helpful? And how did you find yours if you have one?

I love writers groups for the community aspect as well as the ability to learn. Writing is not always easy and it is so wonderful to have a group of people who not only understand but can help you reach your goals. I don’t belong to a specific group but through social networking, I’ve made some very good writing friends from all over the world. We may not live close to each other but we are only an email away. We exchange projects, support each other, and critique each other’s works just as well as a local group can.

11. What are some of your pet peeves in life?

Bad drivers. Now I say that and I know I am one of them so I am being completely hypocritical here but the worst is the morning drop off at my daughter’s school. It’s like a slow-moving demolition derby. LoL. The minivan driving moms are the worst about it. LoL. But then again, I’m really no better so I shouldn’t complain.

12. What is your advice to aspiring writers?

Just sit down and write. Seriously, that’s it. Don’t talk about it, just do it. Lots of people say “Oh I want to write” but never do. Just do it. Don’t worry about the nitty gritty editing and stuff yet, just get something down on paper. Once you have something, then worry about the more complicated stuff. You have to start somewhere and step one is to actually have a story on paper.

13. What can you tell us about your newest book (e-book) just released or coming out?

My latest full-length novel is Hunters & Prey. It’s the second book in my Immortalis series and continues Alyssa’s journey through the infancy of her vampirism.

I also have a new short novella, Karma & Melodies, just released. A Paranormal Romance entitled, Karma & Melodies. Look for it on Kindle and Nook.

Kendra and Marcus, could have had the one thing we all strive for, True Love, but fate stepped in and split them apart before that love had a chance to blossom.

Now, ten years have passed and a chance encounter reunites them. But they’re not the same people they once were.

He’s a Rock star with a bright future and she’s a vampire with a dark past. Can their love work, or have their fates been split forever?

14. Is there anything else you would like to add that we might have missed here today?

Just a heartfelt thank you for having me here! Great questions too!!

On behalf of the followers of Naughty Nights Press, your readers and of course myself, I thank you so much Katie for being here! I hope we can have you back again real soon!

About Katie Salidas

Author of the hot new Urban Fantasy series, Immortalis, Katie has always had a desire to entertain. Since, early childhood, she's dreamed up fantastical characters and scribbled them into pages of various journals and notebooks. Taking an interest in vampires at an early age, she devoured every book, featuring those mysterious, blood sucking creatures, in any genre she could find. She claims that, of all the monsters out there, vampires had always been the most interesting.

It was only natural that a love of reading about vampires, and a love of writing, turned into a desire to write her own stories.

A Las Vegas native, having grown up in the famed City of Sin, Katie loves to feature it as a recurring setting for many of her stories.

How Katie Salidas describes herself best:

I am super mom, endowed with special powers and abilities that let me get the munchkin off to karate and swim lessons, put hot food on the table for dinner, assist with homework, baths, and bedtime. And I still find time to keep the hubby happy and write my novels.

Sorry, I can't even write that with a straight face. Lies all lies.

I wish I were super mom. I rarely have the energy to do it all. I do try though. When I find the time, I squeeze in some writing.

Erotic Romance Author on Naughty Nights Press Blog!

Ann Jacobs has joined us here on Naughty Nights Press blog to share with us some things we may not know about her and to give us a bit of info about her new release "END RUN" available Feb 11th from Ellora's Cave.

Friends, this is one book you are not gonna want to miss! Can we say heat! *fans self* Book two of the Necessary Roughness series, you gotta get em all!

Hi Ann! Thank you so much for taking some time to answer a few questions! It is an honour and a pleasure to have you here at Naughty Nights Press.

1. Could you tell us a little about yourself? What a typical day is like for you? Favorite foods, favorite color, anything that you would like to share with us.

My days are pretty boring, except for when I go to RomantiCon and other writer/reader conventions. I start out about 6 AM by reading email and then move on to a light breakfast and my day of researching or writing. About eleven o’clock I break for lunch, and sometimes I do some shopping or gardening instead of going back to writing immediately. I enjoy food too much considering I’m always watching my weight—pizza and other calorific Italian delights re right up there as favorites. I also like most fruits and veggies, to balance off the evils of too much cheese, bread and pasta, LOL. My favorite colors are black and red, but I also like shades of green and blue for variety.

2. Can you please share with us how old you were when you wrote your first story?

I would if I could remember! I’m not sure, but I think back on my childhood when I often would make up stories in my head. I wrote my first actual complete book when I was in my early thirties.

3. What was your goal for yourself as a writer when you started? Did you meet or surpass it or did it change for you along the way?

I was going to be rich and famous, like the next Nora Roberts or Judith McNaught. I haven’t reached that goal, and since I found out just how few authors actually get that far, I’ve modified it. My more realistic goal now is to be well-recognized and write stories about characters I can love.

4. How did you decide to write books in the erotic romance genre? Was there anything that influenced your choice?

From the beginning of my fledgling writing career, I wanted to write romances where the couples made love with joy, abandon and a certain amount of realism. I hated those purple euphemisms, but even more I disliked reading flowery emotions coming out of heroes that I seriously doubted would ever come out of their Alpha, larger-than-life brains. Needless to say, my first published romances with Berkley and Kensington were VERY steamy—and a novella I wrote for Red Sage’s SECRETS was downright kinky. My jump to Ellora’s Cave came naturally, at a time I was fighting for my piece of the print market pie in NY, once I realized there was money to be made in ebooks even as far back as 2002 (when I signed my first contracts with EC). I’ve never looked back.

5. Did anyone in your own life inspire your main characters?

No.

6. How did you get the idea for the "Necessary Roughness" series and your upcoming release, "End Run"?

I got the idea for my four-book Necessary Roughness series (SACKMASTER is Book 1; END RUN will be released Feb. 11th) by marrying my Gridiron Lovers contemporary series with EC’s Christmas themed stories, “Merry Kinkmas”. These are BDSM contemporaries with pro football player heroes (Gridiron Lovers) who have different unusual fetishes that drive their sex play.

Why? I found it hard to say goodbye to the Gridiron Lovers, so Necessary Roughness sort of spun off from COACH ME, the last book in that series. Also, as I researched fetishes and found not one but several I thought would make intriguing stories, I decided not to do a Christmas Quickie but rather a whole new single-author series.

7. If pressed, could you choose a favourite from the books you have written? Why is it your favourite?

It would be very difficult for me to pick just one favourite story, but if pressed, I’d have to say it would be one of my contemporaries. A MUTUAL FAVOR or perhaps ROPED…but then, EYE OF THE STORM and HOT IN THE CLUTCH hold special places in my heart, as well. END RUN may end up on this “special” list in my mind, too. Why? The common thread in these stories seems to be the heroes’ characters—and the fact that something has changed each of their lives forever and complicated their self-images. (That’s a fancy way of saying I like writing tortured heroes, LOL.)

8. What is the most challenging aspect of being an author? What are the most rewarding aspects?

With the present proliferation of ebook piracy, the most challenging aspect of being an author may be the challenge of earning a decent income, when rampant piracy is combined with the ever-increasing numbers of ebooks from which readers may choose.

What I find most rewarding about writing romance is creating characters who stick in readers’ minds and keep them coming back for more.

9. What are some of your favorite literary works?

Like most American students, I grew up on Edgar Allen Poe (loved his poems, hated his novels), Hawthorne (THE SCARLET LETTER) and Austen (PRIDE AND PREJUDICE). The authors who shaped my own desire to write, however, were less literary and more “commercial”, including John Gresham, Sandra Brown, Nora Roberts, Jayne Ann Krentz and Judith McNaught early on, and later Elizabeth Lowell, Linda Howard and many other romance authors-turned “mainstream”.

My incredibly talented critique partner, Joey W. Hill, writes erotic romance with a beautiful voice I’d almost call “literary”. I wouldn’t be surprised if someday she is considered among the “classic” literary fiction writers of this century.

10. Please share with us what can we expect from you next?

END RUN will be released February 11 by Ellora’s Cave. Book 2 in the Necessary Roughness series, readers may preview the book at Jasmine-Jade.com. The third and fourth books in this series will follow, along with the six new Pleasure Partners that will follow HIS PLEASURE MISTRESS, which is now available for purchase.

11. Besides being a writer, what other types of jobs have you held?

I have been a healthcare financial manager, a hospital fiscal director and a staff accountant with an international CPA firm, but for the past fifteen years I have written full-time.

12. Is there a specific bit of advice you would give to an aspiring author who is looking to publish their work? Traditional or Self-Publishing, paper book or e-book, which would you suggest?

Having gone both ways, I must say the quicker road to publication is generally with e-publishers, although self-publishing is obviously quickest but in most cases not nearly as profitable or as likely to count much toward building a writing career. Nowadays, ebook sales are catching up with print sales, probably nowhere more than in the genre of erotic romance—but there is more prestige if not more money in going with a traditional publisher who will not only put your book out in electronic forms but will also get that same book out in print with efficient distribution to bookstores.

If a person were writing traditional romance, I still would recommend she try hard to get a traditional publisher, because the sales numbers for these types of book with epublishers are still very low. With erotic romance, I recommend a top e-publisher with a good track record because I can write more, publish more, and make more money with shorter stories (which I feel are best suited for the erotic subgenre and my writing style) than I could with a traditional NY publisher.

13. Is there anything else you’d like to share with your readers?

I think I may have already told my readers more than they want to know, but if not they may find cover art, descriptions and excerpts of all my books that are presently available for purchase at my website, along with photos, freebies, links and so on. They also can glimpse my informal and infrequent ramblings on my blog and on Facebook.

14. Do you have any upcoming appearances? If so where can our readers find you?

I’m skipping the Romantic Times convention this year, but I plan to be at RomantiCon in Akron, Ohio, September 29-October 2. I may attend a few other events this year—if I do, I will list them at my website.

Thank you Ann! Your participation is greatly appreciated! It has been an extreme pleasure to have you on Naughty Nights Press today. We hope to see more of you in the future!

About Ann Jacobs

Ann Jacobs is a sucker for lusty Alpha heroes and happy endings. Erotic romance, to her, is the perfect combination of sex, sensuality, deep emotional involvement and lifelong commitment—the elusive fantasy women often dream about but seldom achieve.

First published in 1996, Jacobs has sold more than fifty books and novellas. She is currently nominated for Romantic Times’ 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award for excellence in erotic romance, as well as having had books nominated by RT reviewers for best erotic romance in 2007 and 2008. Her books have earned awards including the Passionate Plume (best novella, 2006, second place contemporary, 2008), the Desert Rose (best hot and spicy romance, 2004) and More Than Magic (best erotic romance, 2004). She has been a double finalist in separate categories of the EPPIES and From the Heart RWA Chapter’s contest. Three of her books have been translated and sold in several European countries.

A CPA and former hospital financial manager, Jacobs now writes full-time, with the help of Mr. Blue, the family cat who sometimes likes to perch on the back of her desk chair and lend his sage advice. He sometimes even contributes a few random letters when he decides he wants to try out the keyboard. (Most of the time Blue just curls up, hides his eyes with his paws...and sleeps!)

She loves to hear from readers, and to put faces with names at signings and conventions.

Erotic Author Margie Church Interview on Naughty Nights Press!

Welcome Margie! It is great to have you at Naughty Nights Press.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do an interview with us!

To our followers & fans: Margie will be sharing some personal information about herself with us as well as information about two of her erotic books, Dangerous Love, the second book in her "Love Bites" Series which is already available *squeal* and her new release Love Revisited, the sequel to "WET", available on March 7th! *happy dance*

I know you are all just as excited as I am to read Margie's interview so I shall stop babbling and we can get to it!

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

Thanks for having me, Ladies! Hugs, Gina for having me! Love that shot on your banner. Yeow! I might need a copy for my private collection. *wink*

I am one of those crazy people who's either writing or thinking about writing. I work as a copywriter and editor during the day and write books, fan fiction, and magazine feature articles the rest of the time. I've been a professional writer years and years and I've been writing fiction for four years. I have five romances and a nursery rhyme (surprise!) on the market. I'm married and have two sons. We live in the Midwest where there's tons of snow and I can't imagine living somewhere else right now. I enjoy a good laugh. If you follow me on Facebook, Twitter or any of the reader's loops, you'll figure out I'm an instigator of many naughty chuckles.

2. When did you realize you wanted to be an author?

I wrote in a fan fiction challenge and took second place. I'd never written anything longer than five or six pages and never fiction. All my work was for commercial publications and advertising. I was extremely intimidated by the 30,000 word challenge but, afterward, I'd cranked out half of an amazing romantic suspense. The Forbidden Love readers *waves to all those amazing EJAMI fans* really loved the story. I thought, "Shoot, maybe I can do something with this." I did. It turned into my debut novel, Awakening Allaire and then a sequel, Avenging Allaire. (Yes, that's the smoking hot Jimmy Thomas on the cover with a gun in his hand.)

3. What is your most & least favorite part of writing?

I'm not crazy about research. It's time-consuming work that's absolutely necessary, but I can spend hours looking for information to validate a sentence or two. I also struggle with finding subject matter experts. Any doctors out there who want to be in my short list of SMEs, raise your hand!

My favorite part of writing is coming up with the plot. I see the story in my head long before I write it. I envision the characters, and hear them speak, and get a strong sense of who they are before I ever write a word. I'm a plotter, not a pantser, so I write down the story arch and I get so excited as I see things unfolding. I can't wait to dive in…as soon as the research is done. Drats.

4. Do you have a ritual to get you ready to write? Something special you do to psyche you up?

I usually go back a couple pages to get my head back in the story. With kids around, I can't hope for quiet, so it's necessary to tune out the world and tune into the characters. Love scenes are a bit different. I tend to think about those quite awhile before I write them. Sometimes I'll be typing with my eyes closed (and hopefully fingers on the right keys) to really get things down.

5. After writing for hours at a time how do you relax?

I was once told by a physical therapist I don't know how to relax and probably never have. (Can you believe I was rushing through a relaxation technique? Yeah…that's me.) But, when I do get away from work, I love music, especially classical music. I go to the opera several times a year and I love concerts. I adore walks at night. The night is peaceful and I prefer the distraction of the moon and the stars to the busy-ness of the day anyway. I also enjoy a good beer with my girlfriends.

6. Where do you write?

I have an office at home.

7. Does your environment have an impact on what or how you write?

Nope. I am very disciplined about writing – usually about 1,000 words a day and I always write in the same place. I have to say that I need more quiet when I'm editing. Getting rid of pesky passive voice and all those other technical requirements take some clever thought. Quiet helps, but it's not always available.

8. What is your opinion of writer's groups? Do you find them helpful? And how did you find yours if you have one?

I belong to a few online and they are helpful. Writing is a solitary business most of the time and there's so much to learn. I asked fellow authors for recommendations about these kinds of groups and lurked in a few until I found a few that suited me. I have beta readers that I choose depending on the book. All these things help me put out a better story!

9. What are some of your pet peeves in life?

I hate stupid questions. I'm blond so I get a free pass some days, but honestly, I hate answering questions that peeps with a little more gumption could figure out themselves. I think elbow grease isn't just for elbows, you know?

10. What is your advice to aspiring writers?

Put your ego in the drawer and put on your big girl panties. There are opportunities to learn and grow at every corner in this business, but it often comes in the form of rejection and difficult conversations with your editors. Suck it up and decide if you want to write the very best books you can or whether you want to insist on doing it your way. Both work, but you'll have different results most times. I also made friends with Sesame Street. When I can't take any more conversations about what I need to do to be a better writer and market myself better, The Count never fails to make me smile. (No wonder I write vampire books, too, right?)

11. What can you tell us about your newest book (e-book) just released or coming out?

The second book in my Love Bites series is Dangerous Love. It was released at Thanksgiving. If you enjoy an erotic vampire story that isn't sparkly or have females begging to be turned into creatures of the night, then these two books should interest you. The stories scamper around the globe and have amazing plots and subplots. There's also not only a fantastic, steamy romance between Wade and Jui, but there's also dark bondage and some gay romance. The reviews have been fantastic and I invite you to check them out at Noble Romance and at Amazon or your favorite eBook retailer. They'll also be coming out in print.

12. Is there anything else you would like to add that we might have missed here today?

The sequel to my contemporary erotic romance, WET, is coming out March 7, from Noble Romance. Look for it if you enjoy hot hetero romances!

I always enjoy meeting new people so I hope you'll check out my books and find me on Facebook and Twitter. I'm usually around and look forward to saying, hey!

Erotic Author Cj Black on Naughty Nights Press Blog! Do not miss this awesome interview!

CJ Black joins Naughty Nights Press today to share with her fans a sneak peak into a little bit of the intimate details of her regular daily life and her successes as an author, in particular her recent release “Illusions of Night”.

Hi CJ and Welcome to Naughty Nights Press Blog! We are very happy to have you here today.

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m an author of erotic fiction, usually male/male, although I have a few male/female stories online. I usually write fantasy or contemporary. My most recent work, Illusion of Night is available through Liquid Silver Books. When I’m not writing (or working) I’m gaming, usually RPG’s.

When it’s warm out, I garden. I grow pretty much everything, flowers, fruits and vegetables. And fresh vegetables are good for my other hobby, cooking. I’m a bit of a homebody, although I don’t mind the occasional outing.

2. When did you realize you wanted to be an author?

Well I didn’t officially realize it until I was a teenager however I developed a love for books and writing at a much earlier age – five to be exact. I began writing when my aunt gave me an old typewriter (yes I know I’m dating myself) and I created these little super-hero story books with whatever blank paper I could find. They were very bad little efforts that I thought were the greatest thing in the world. I suppose we could call them early tries at fan-fiction.
I wrote my first novel at fourteen after a friend gave me an ad for a publisher, which unfortunately turned out to be a vanity press (we still use the term correct?). Realize that back then there was no Internet or Google for me to check these places. I look back on that now and I know the work was in no way ready for publication and I’m glad I dodged that bullet.

3. What was the first fiction you ever wrote? Was it for publication? What reaction did you get?

The first fiction I wrote was definitely not for publication, see above. The first full-length novel I wrote was a young adult mystery, which I was really into and was very popular at the time. I actually wrote several of these, which were well liked by my peers, unfortunately, the publishers weren’t as enthusiastic.
I also would write short stories and put the names of my friends as the protagonists. They were also very well received.
I was given a lot of encouragement and editing by my English teacher and her husband who taught lit at the local university. I appreciate their help to this day. I wish I knew where they were so I could thank them.

4. What is your most & least favorite part of writing?

Editing! It drives me crazy! We as writers believe everything we write is perfect as is when deep down we know it’s not. We know we have to take a red pen to our pride and joy, our perfect little baby. I suppose coming in second is writing that first sentence. Sometimes, the perfect one comes to me and other times…

5. Do you have a ritual to get you ready to write? Something special you do to psyche you up?

I don’t have a ritual per se but I do like listening to music. Usually something New Age or Jazz oriented in the background. Other times, I’ll actually stream a video or TV show but that’s seldom as it proves to be a distraction. I also like to have snacks nearby. I’ll write for a few hours then take a break so I don’t burn out.
Awhile back I would get up early, write for an hour, then when I came home from work write from six to eleven. I want to get back to doing that.

6 . Where do you write?

In my home office. Everything I need is nearby. My reference books and music. My drawing pad and pencils which I use to do maps and interiors. And the bookcases with the three hundred plus books I own.

7. Does your environment have an impact on what or how you write?

Yes. If I’m out and about and an idea pops into my head I can pretty much block out everything around me and focus on the story. Now there are also times, when what’s going on around me can give me an idea. Perhaps a conversation overheard or something I see around me.
A good example of this is my car broke down awhile back and the tow-truck driver gave me a ride to the mechanic shop, all the while, he’s telling me about how he started the business and how they’re about to expand. He was your average working guy and I thought, what if he picks up some stuffy suit who doesn’t want to interact but is forced too? Could the two of then develop an attraction?

8. After writing for hours at a time how do you relax?

I’ll stream a video or play a game. If it’s spring or summer, I’ll go out and sit in my garden for a while. I actually want to get a laptop soon so I can write outside on nice days.

9. What author or book, if any, influenced your writing? Why?

Well for erotica, there are several but the one author that first piqued my interest in the genre was Claire Thompson. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed everything she’s written. I suppose I could say she has a flare for making her stories and characters real. They’re not perfect, they have flaws and they grow and change throughout the story. They make mistakes.
I believe your characters should be as human as possible. We all do thing that defy common sense but the point is to learn.

10. What is your opinion of writer's groups? Do you find them helpful? And how did you find yours if you have one?

I think they can be of enormous help if you find the right one. It’s always good to have people who can give you feedback and help you get through the rough spots. I’m not part of one at this time. I unfortunately had a few bad experiences in writer’s groups in the past. The people who ran them pretty much didn’t have any set rules and basically let their close friends do and say whatever they chose to the newcomers. Some of it was pretty brutal.
If you’re going to join a group, make certain there’s some type of leadership structure and/or rules of conduct and if you feel you’ve been wronged, a grievance committee.

11. What are some of your pet peeves in life?

People who take and don’t want to give in return. Or those that want sympathy when they have problems but don’t have time to lend a shoulder to cry on when the other person needs one. Also those that feel the world owes them and they don’t believe they should have to work hard to get what they want.

12. What is your advice to aspiring writers?

The same advice I give every time – write for yourself first and then for others. If you don’t like what you’ve written, no one else will either. Don’t try and copy another writer’s style. That’s the worst advice I was ever given. You’ll never be able to do it and it will only frustrate you.
Develop your own style where you feel reasonably comfortable with everything you write. And take care of your readers. They’re the reason you’re where you are today.

13. What can you tell us about your newest book?

My most recent release is Illusion of Night. A male/male fantasy erotic. Here’s the blurb:

A spectral war has torn the veils that separate life and death into pieces. Beings of the darkness slip through these rifts as armies of man wage a losing battle against the corporeal invaders.

Dane Tanderes was once a mortal man condemned to an unjust death, cursed to live as a fiend until such time as the gods decree him worthy of forgiveness. Now that he has escaped back to the world of the living he is determined to never again live in darkness. Dane is instrumental in the war against those he once called brethren, fighting to give his people a chance return to the light.

Vanlyn Sarn is the second son of a cruel lord. He lives a life of one of misery and degradation, despised by his brother and father for reasons known only to them. He is tasked by his father to journey deep into enemy territory and escort troops to aid in the fighting. However, Vanlyn knows the true nature of this mission. He is not expected to return.

When Dane takes Vanlyn prisoner, he plans to use the young prince as a pawn to seduce Vanlyn into betraying his kingdom and his people. But passion ignites red hot and Dane is torn between his burgeoning feelings for the young prince and doing what his honor demands. Which decision will lead him to what he desires most?

You can read a the first chapter at: http://www.liquidsilverbooks.com/books/illusionofnightexcerpt.htm

And here’s some additional news! I’ve started on the sequel! As some of you may know, I had a PC crash last month and it took all my works with it. It’s taken me a bit to get things together but now I’m ready to get back into the swing of things. Wish me luck!

14. Is there anything else you would like to add that we might have missed here today?

Well I like to hear from fellow writers and readers all the time! I’m pretty much everywhere, so feel free to drop me a line if you like. Here are the places where I spend most of my time:

Catnip, Rosemary, Rage and Time, The Newest M/M Release by Author Pablo Michaels!

"Catnip, Rosemary, Rage and Time", by author Pablo Michaels is now available in e-book! This M/M romance is not one you want to miss the pleasure of reading!

Synopsis:

“Catnip, Rosemary, Rage and Time” summarizes Billie Blake and Glenn Talbot’s celebration of their tenth anniversary on a cruise to Alaska. With most of the passengers older than them they soon discover their friendly cabin steward, a hunky waiter, and an appealing bartender. Paul and Linda Anderson play a cat and mouse game with Billie to help them become their fall guy for an irregular diamond operation. The action begins with a Friends of Dorothy Party in the Greek Lounge at midnight the first day of the cruise. Romance, mystery, comedy, and erotica occur from port to port in Victoria to the Yukon and back to San Francisco.

Excerpt:

“Something is going to happen,” Billie said passionately.
“You’re damn right;” Glenn answered seductively, “you’re going to get laid four times a day on this cruise!”

They stood on the top deck, watching the skyline of San Francisco diminish, as the ship sailed under the ascending span of the Golden Gate Bridge.
“It always makes me sad to leave San Francisco,” Billie lamented.
“It’s because you have to say good bye to all the men you’ve coveted for so many years,” Glenn quipped.

Billie, two years older than Glenn at fifty-four, constantly, lusted after his lover, who stood six feet tall with dark brown hair, a thick mustache, and bushy eyebrows streaked with gray. He loved his posture, smooth, easy and his social grace at initiating conversation. He blatantly observed him, wanting him and liking what they enjoyed together. Billie knew Glenn could be mysterious, allowing others to see him, sometimes holding back what he felt.

Glenn teased him about how he carried himself as big as a bull, true to his Zodiac sign, a Taurus, although shorter and walking with a limp, a direct contrast to Glenn’s easy going nature. He often told him he appreciated his soft spoken voice, but also knew he could argue strong opinions. He usually ignored his psychic premonitions, dismissing them as coincidences. Billie’s mustache and short, receding, light brown hair, with his hairy chest attracted Glenn immensely, but his middle leg, the big one, had hooked him the most. His interest intensified when Billie acted like a child, proclaiming, “Life should be fun, so let’s live and party.”

Billie’s eyes caught a roving, intense stare from a stylish dressed, blonde woman with piercing, blue eyes. He took note of her sexy male companion, sporting a dark brown goatee and thick eyebrows, accentuated by large, brown eyes. Billie speculated they were in their fifties, and could pass as models in their younger years. Billie nervously tried to avoid her stare, forcing himself to look away. He could not endure the potency of the woman’s glaring.

Glenn asked, “What’s the matter? Isn’t having sex four times a day enough?”
“No, it’s not that,” Billie responded. “That blonde woman over there with that too handsome of a man is giving me the eye.”

“Anyone in their right mind would stare at you, my handsome hunk.”
“No, something is going to happen with that woman.”

Glenn rolled his eyes in disbelief, saying, “Look at that flashy diamond necklace draped around her neck, though.”

“If they’re real, they must be very expensive,” Billie commented more calmly.

“They’re real.”

The woman’s piercing eyes still focused on Billie.

“Why does she keep staring at me?”

A gust of wind whipped across the upper deck. The woman’s long blonde hair blew across her face. She quickly brushed her hair out of her eyes with her hand. Once again, she stood staring at Billie, occasionally whispering to her male companion. Then, she turned away.
