Today I’m interviewing fellow
author in the Alpha Shifter Seductions Boxed Set, Lashell Collins. I’m excited
to find out more about her and her story in the set. So, let’s get started.
Kiki: Hey Lashell. Can you
tell us what got you started writing?
Lashell: Actually, I've always felt like a writer,
even back when I was very young. But you know how we get busy with life and we
forget the things we used to love to do because we're so busy doing the things
we have to do? Well, that happened. And then, about six years ago I lost
someone very special to me, and I just started writing in my grief. I haven't
stopped since.
Kiki: What was your first
published story, title, genre, and how did you publish it?
Lashell: All of my books are self-published. My first story
was book one of a trilogy. It was called Pierced by Danger, and it was romantic
suspense. And I was so new to the whole writing scene at that time that I had
no clue what I had written was romantic suspense until beta readers started
responding and saying things like, “Oh, my gosh, it's so suspenseful!”
Kiki: When you were asked
to be in this paranormal romance boxed set, what made you go with a werewolf?
Lashell: Because werewolves are my thing. I actually
write in three different genres – romantic suspense, rockstar romance, and
paranormal (shifter) romance. Cops, rockstars and werewolves are my go-to
heroes every time, and I actively looks for ways to combine the three. My Lunar
Falls trilogy features a small town Sheriff who just happens to be the reigning
GrandAlpha over the five werewolf packs in the state of Ohio. And in my current
WIP, my hero is a sexy as sin rockstar who also just happens to be a werewolf.
Kiki: What inspired the
plot of The Claiming, your story in the Alpha Shifter Seductions Box Set? Was
it in direct relation to the type of shifter, or something else?
Lashell: Well, yes and no. Like I said, werewolves are
my thing. But also, I was simply intrigued by the idea of a woman being bitten
by what she assumed was a normal wolf, only to suddenly find herself stalked by
a handsome stranger. Who is he, and why is he watching her? What does he want?
And why are these strange things happening to her body? There was just
something mysterious and sexy about that concept to me, so I went with it.
Kiki: What type of
shifters do you like to read about?
Lashell: Werewolves, obviously. But I also enjoy
reading about big cat shifters and dragon shifters. I love them all!

Lashell Collins
